ProcureTEX Key Themes

We're building the agenda around some key themes we keep hearing from you - from real-world AI use to the future of procurement.

AI in Action
AI is rapidly moving from hype to practical application in procurement. At ProcureTEX 2025, we explored how AI technologies, from Agentic AI to AI maturity models, are transforming procurement processes. Professor Michael Wooldridge kicked off the event with a deep dive into the true potential of AI, offering insights into its evolving role in procurement. The AI in Procurement: Practical Applications & Friction Points panel addressed the tangible impact of AI, highlighting current challenges and opportunities for organizations. In the live Hackathons attendees saw best-in-class systems working together in real-time to solve real procurement challenges.
Next-Gen Procurement
The future of procurement is data-driven and agile. Traditional P2P systems are being replaced by next-gen technologies that enhance decision-making and drive efficiency. At ProcureTEX 2025, we explored the shift towards more integrated, intelligent systems. Sessions like Closing the Data to Action Gap highlighted how organizations are leveraging advanced analytics and AI to turn data into actionable insights. Workshops focused on practical applications of AI in procurement, where experts guided hands-on, small-group sessions designed to address real-world challenges and innovations.
The Future Enterprise
As procurement evolves, it’s becoming a key driver of value and innovation across the enterprise. The role of procurement professionals is changing, and technology is playing a central part in that transformation. The 2025 Tech Landscape & Future Predictions panel provided insights into how procurement tech will evolve, offering a glimpse into the tools and strategies that will shape future enterprises. Attendees heard real-world examples, like Sourcing in 2003 vs. 2025 at Johnson & Johnson, where the former CPO reflected on the evolution of procurement roles and the tools now enabling greater strategic impact. Attendees also had the opportunity to engage in Practitioners’ Circles, where peers discussed challenges and opportunities in AI, orchestration, and more.
Risk, Compliance & Control
As procurement technology scales and automates, the need for strong risk management and compliance frameworks grows. At ProcureTEX 2025, we unpacked how organizations are addressing the complexities of risk, governance, and compliance in an increasingly digital procurement world. Sessions like Intake & Orchestration: A Case Study focused on overcoming data silos and improving data quality to mitigate risk. Maersk’s Journey to a Connected Procurement Ecosystem explored how integration and transparency helps manage risk, ensuring compliance and end-to-end visibility in procurement processes.
Additional Opportunities at ProcureTEX
ProcureTEX isn’t just about presentations and keynotes: it’s about collaboration. Engage in Live Hackathons, where technology solutions work together in real time to solve pressing procurement challenges. In the Practitioner Circles, a dedicated space for procurement practitioners, you’ll connect with peers to share challenges, ideas, and lessons learned openly. The Workshops offer an interactive experience with a focus on practical, hands-on learning, making sure you walk away with tools you can apply immediately to drive transformation in your organization.
